Dear Members and Friends,

If you think about it, there are two kinds of people in the world.  Those who wake up and say, “Good Morning, Lord!” and then those who say, “Good Lord, it’s Morning!”  So which one are you?  But yet when you do stop to think about it for a minute, this little story says so much.  Each day when we wake up we have a choice on how we are going to face the day.  We can face it with a positive attitude,  “Good Morning, Lord! What sort of challenges and opportunities are we going to face today?”  Or, we can wake up and say, “Good Lord, it’s morning! What happened to the night and how will I ever survive the day?”  A long time ago I ran across this quote from Charles Swindoll. It is just called attitude.  It goes as follows:

“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.  Attitude to me is more important than facts.  It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do.  It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill.  It will make or break a company, a church, a home.  The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.  We cannot change the past, we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.  We cannot change the inevitable.  The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.  I am convinced that life is 10 percent what happens to me, and 90 percent how I react to it.  And so it is with you…We are in charge of our attitudes.”

The message that is stated by Swindoll is so real we cannot deny that things do happen to us all the time.  The things that go on in our daily life impact us in both good and bad ways.  However, how we react to them is our choice.  We can joyfully take on everything as an opportunity to shine for God, or we can mope about them and think why me Lord?  The choice is ours!

There are a lot of neat things that are going on in May.  We have the Children’s Banquet, the Day Care Open House, Pentecost Sunday with Rev. Click preaching, the Mother Daughter Banquet, the Mission Conference, Youth and Graduate Sunday, the Anniversary Choir Concert, and the Reds Game.  See you at church!
