Body Recall ProgramHealth & Fitness Cannot Be Bought....They Must Be Earned!
SPRING SESSION is March 8-May 14, 2010 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays for 10 weeks in the Celebration Center. To sign up call, Wanda L. Williams, 513-422-0651.
Body Recall is a lifetime physical fitness program that is perfect for men and women of all ages. It combines wellness education and exercise into enjoyable hour-long sessions. The educational focus combined with slow, simple and smooth exercises will reclaim the range of movement and make living more pleasurable. It is non-aerobic and does not produce pain, strain, exhaustion or injury. Participants experience increased flexibility and strength, with better balance, coordination and independence. For registration and information call nationally certified instructor, Wanda L. Williams @ 513-422-0651.Visit our website @ www.bodyrecallinc.org
In the Body Recall program, the mechanics of everyday activities such as walking, climbing stairs, descending stairs, sitting and standing are explored for their worth in contributing naturally to daily physical maintenance. Full joint mobility is exploded in postures that are conducive to successful effort. Body Recall is a challenge to do more with what we have . It is for everyone...athlete, the diabetic, the overweight, those recovering from operations, illness and injury; the heart patient, and especially for those who are sedentary. The deep roots of the symbolic tree are a faith in God and a profound respect for His creation, the human body. The body was designed to move and Body Recall is a program of life - giving movement. Instructors are specially trained to insure students reach their potential without risk, discomfort or injury. Wanda Williams is certified for Beginning, Intermediate, and Special Populations classes and has taught this program for 5 years.
These classes are designed to enable adults of all ages to keep
themselves "physically fit", maintain or improve their bodies through
systematic and regular, gentle exercises. This method increases ability to
stimulate circulation, build strength in weight bearing bones and increase
flexibility to allow students to be able to remain independent for daily living.

Pack 19 and Troop &18 NewsNew for 2008, Pack 19 held a Rain Gutter Regatta on Saturday, August 23, here at First Baptist. The boys made sailboats that they blew down the track to the finish line. Although the seas were only 10-foot lengths of rain gutter filled with water, and the ships were a mere 6 inches long, the race was a very exciting event. Each boy built his own boat, out of any type of materials, with supervision and help from parents or other family members, and then sailing it down the gutter with his own lung power. Pack 19 is participating in a long-term service project in cooperation with Keep Middletown Beautiful, Inc. We have adopted one of the "bright spots" - the cement planter flower beds you see around Middletown. All the materials were provided to us by Keep Middletown Beautiful, we only need to supply the elbow grease, water and time. The plants were in and a few Scouts helped to prepare the beds in May. We have been responsible for watering 2-3 times per week. In October we will have a pack-wide activity to pull the old plants and put in the new ones for the winter. Troop 718 April 25th 9 scouts met with Joe Corder at the church garage to help out with an electrical problem. For a few months, the garage’s electrical supply has been dysfunctional, so the entire cable needed to be dug up. For seven and a half hours, 9 boys dug out the power line connecting the building with the church. Lots of effort, a few blisters, but the job got done. There is something to be said for young backs. By John Nenni, Scoutmaster On the 16th and 17th of May the troop went on a bike campout from Corwin Ohio to Yellow Springs (50+miles). The forecast called for rain, but of course was outdated. The sun only made a brief appearance for Saturday with ice cream at Young's Dairy on Saturday night! Sunday morning started off with not a cloud in the sky. After a few wrong turns, every Scout and adult was accounted for. We had quick meals, which won't be the norm for the Put-In-Bay trip. June 26th through the 28th, the troop will be taking a trip up to South Bass Island State Park, and Put-In-Bay. The Venture Crew will be on a sailing trip around the Western Basin of Lake Erie. Island-hopping even up to Pelee, in Canadian waters. The Venture Crew will be rejoining the troop Friday night on South Bass Island. The rest of the troop will be able to sail on Saturday, while the VC is touring the island. Everyone will be together Saturday night for dinner. Lynn Hines, Troop 718 Spokesperson FundraiserTroop 718 is selling American flags. The flags are cotton, 3 feet by 5 feet and are selling for only $10. If you have an American flag that is soiled or torn, Troop 718 will also properly retire your flag during a flag retirement ceremony. According to the US Flag Code, “It is time to replace an American flag when the flag is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display.” To purchase a flag please contact Trent Wren at 937-743-6365/ robinsnest1226@ameritech.net.
Valet Parking AvailableValet Parking will be available each Sunday. We hope this will make it more convenient for you to attend.
Day Care NotesValentine parties were held on February 12th. The Big Birds worked on their five senses as well as the letters R, S, T and U. Sight words for this month are his and she. They attended a Valentine’s Day party at Liberty Retirement on February 10. The Day Care Staff and children wished Annie Cobb a Happy Birthday on February 10. On March 9 they will celebrate with Debbie Hale.
Annual MeetingAnnual Meeting is set for Sunday, January 31 immediately following the morning worship service. We will vote on the Budget for 2010 and elect a Nominating Committee. Please plan to be present for this important and vital meeting of our church.

Walk to JerusalemThe Health Ministries invites you to participate in a “Walk to Jerusalem,“ beginning Sunday, March 7. By the end of our 12-week journey (ending on May 30), we hope the congregation will have walked enough combined miles to reach Jerusalem (as the crow flies)! We begin our walk in Ohio, travel to New York, fly across the Atlantic, and continue our Eastern journey through Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, and Egypt to Jerusalem. On our way, we will explore cities and countries, learning about the people and their lives, culture, and religion. This is an opportunity for us all to exercise our physical bodies by walking, exercise our spiritual bodies by praying, and exercise our minds by learning about others in our world. There are many ways for you and your family members to earn miles--walking, exercise classes, sports, gym class, working around the house or garden. Our great walking track is available Monday through Friday. Children can also earn miles by cleaning their rooms, doing chores, riding bikes or playing outside. We hope you will sign up for a participant start-up packet that includes weekly inspiration cards to keep track of your activities and miles and prayer concerns, interesting facts about the places we will be “walking through," and weekly Bible verses and devotionals. You are encouraged to pray before or during your walk or at a time you choose. We will mark our progress each week on the world map in the Narthex. Each month we will distribute additional cards for tracking your miles, more information about our journey, and a small gift to encourage you to keep walking! At the end of our Walk to Jerusalem, all participants will join together to sample food from the countries we have "walked" through! Sign-up next Sunday, February 28, or Sunday, March 7 and get your packet in the Narthex!
