Mission OpportunitiesSeptember
Food PantryThe first six months of 2003 the food pantry
has served 35 families in need of food. Non
perishables are provided by the congregation.
Perishable items are purchased with monetary donations and with funds
from the communion offering.
Habitat for HumanityPeople from First Baptist and First Christian joined in the construction of a house for Habitat. The house was dedicated in June and the new tenants moved into their home. We donated $3,000 toward the construction of this house. "Our love should not be just words and talk: it should be true love which shows itself in action." Radio MinistryOur Sunday morning worship service is broadcast on WPFB 910 am radio.
Middletown Community Blood CenterOur Community Blood Center has announced that blood demand has outstretched supplies. The Board of deacons is asking that we give the gift of life. Call the Blood Bank at (513) 727-1995 and make an appointment. Be sure to mention that you are donating on behalf of First Baptist Church.
Hope HouseA group from First Baptist provides dinner
for Hope House the first Sunday of each month.
Boy ScoutsTroop 718 is sponsored by First Baptist Church. Cub Scout pack meetings monthly.
Alcoholics AnonymousProvides a meeting place for AA on Mondays and Thursdays at 7:00 p.m.
T. O. Y. BoxesThinking of You boxes were filled for 19 of our youth in college and the men and women in the military. This is an annual project that takes place in February.
Supporting Our TroopsSeventy two pounds of
personal items and toiletries were sent to our We received a beautiful
note from Stephanie thanking us on behalf of her troops.
She wrote of the harsh conditions under which they were living.
She also spoke of a chaplain who was serving her troops and noted that
attendance was much higher than usual for worship services.
